Join fibre artist and Ply Studio owner, Carmen Bohn, at Luna Glass Studio (299 Crichton Street) to make your own tiny tapestry weaving. There are 2 workshop times: choose either 10am-12pm OR 2pm-4pm. Both workshops take place on Sunday, June 9th.
This is a beginner weaving workshop in which you will receive all the supplies you need, which are yours to keep! The kits include:
- A Chip & Sparrow Mezzo loom
- Long sharp needle
- Short blunt needle
- Manual
- Comb/bobbin
- Pick up stick
- Fibre packs includes:15+ grams of either synthetic or merino roving; 10+ grams of pure wool or merino roving; 10+ grams of pure wool Aran weight yarn made locally; 10+ grams of wool blend pencil roving; Acrylic warp.
You will learn a series of fun techniques (nothing overwhelming) which you will use to create your own unique woven tiny work of art. Then you will go home and make many, many more! This will be your new favourite pastime - trust me! Come have fun creating with others in this bright and fun studio space in the heart of New Edinburgh in Ottawa.
You don't have to do anything but sign up and show up! This is your invitation to a totally low-stress, fun and creative time in a great studio environment.
Level: beginner; no previous experience necessary.
Your registration fee includes:
- 2 hours of personalized instruction (plus support after the workshop);
- All supplies to complete your weaving, including a sweet Mezzo Loom kit from Guelph based company, Chip & Sparrow; 2 tapestry needles; a manual; and, a mix of really interesting threads and yarns in a fibre kit; and,
- A boredom-busting good time and something to look forward to!
Maximum number of participants: 6 people per workshop (the space is small so spots are really limited; be quick - these will sell out!). 1) These workshops will take place IN-PERSON at Luna Glass Studio in Ottawa (299 Crichton Street, Ottawa).
2) If you are unwell, please stay home and contact Carmen for direction on a make-up class.

4) These workshops will be taught in English.
5) The weaving you will be creating may differ from the examples shown in this listing. Your weaving will flourish based on your own creativity.
6) These workshops are limited to 6 participants but 3 participants are required for the workshop to take place. If cancelled due to low enrolment, you will be notified about your options to take a different workshop OR receive a refund.
Cancellation Policy
Registration fees are non-refundable but can be transferred to someone else OR used for a future workshop. Please stay home if you are unwell and contact Carmen. She will make arrangements for you to have a do-over. Should we have to cancel, students will receive a full refund. Please note that we reserve the right to postpone and reschedule a class due to unforeseen circumstances.
