Join Carmen at Luna Glass Studio (299 Crichton Street) on May 4th or 5th (choose your best day - both workshops start at 10am and end at 12noon) to create your very own yarn pretzel.
A yarn pretzel? These are rope lengths that you will learn how to wrap uniformly, coil and trim to make your very own one of a kind wall art. As one of the objectives behind this workshop is to encourage wellness, Carmen will share some tips for feeling good through the act of making. You will learn so much more than you have been able to figure out through YouTube, and certainly have more fun creating with others in this bright and inspiring studio space in the heart of New Edinburgh in Ottawa.
Yes, you could make this by yourself at home, watching a few YouTube videos.
No, it is not hard to do.
BUT, here’s the thing. You won’t.
You might have a yarn stash.
You might have a few hours of free time.
You might have scrolled past something like this a few times and thought “oh, I should make that!”.
But you haven’t.
So, this is the sign you’ve been waiting for.
This is your invitation to a totally low-stress, fun and creative time in a great studio environment.
Best off all? You don't have to do anything but sign up and show up!
Once you have made one with me, you can go home and make a bunch more with (and for) all your friends. These are a great hostess gift, a unique shower present, a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift (or better yet - come WITH your Mom and make them TOGETHER!).
Also, famous-ish fibre artists are selling these things for upwards of $500USD! No jokes. You can do this. I will teach you how. We will have fun.
Level: beginner; no previous experience necessary.
Your registration fee includes:
- 2 hours of personalized instruction;
- All supplies to complete your project, including a mix of macrame rope and yarn; and,
- A boredom-busting good time and something to look forward to!
Maximum number of participants: 6 people per workshop (the space is small so spots are really limited; be quick - these will sell out!). 1) This workshop will take place IN-PERSON at Luna Glass Studio in Ottawa (299 Crichton Street, Ottawa).
2) If you are unwell, please stay home and contact Carmen for direction on a make-up class.
3) Please ensure the email hello@carmenbohn.com is in your contacts and whitelisted so that you receive all correspondence about these workshops. You will receive more details about your workshop 2 days before it takes place so watch your inbox.
4) These workshops will be taught in English.
5) The piece you will be creating may differ from the examples shown in this listing. The way you put it all together will depend on your own creativity.
6) These workshops are limited to 6 participants but 3 participants are required for the workshop to take place. If cancelled due to low enrolment, you will be notified about your options to take a different workshop OR receive a refund.
Cancellation Policy
Registration fees are non-refundable but can be transferred to someone else OR used for a future workshop. Please stay home if you are unwell and contact Carmen. She will make arrangements for you to have a do-over. Should we have to cancel, students will receive a full refund. Please note that we reserve the right to postpone and reschedule a class due to unforeseen circumstances.
